Big Brothers Deli has been feeding East Hartford from its corner on Burnside Avenue since 2009. It started with a chance discovery, a phone call between brothers, and a shared dream — and it's been growing ever since.

Andrés was riding through the neighborhood when he spotted a small corner shop for sale. He called his brother Rolando — and just like that, they were in business.

Andrés named the place Big Brothers — a statement about family, trust, and working side by side. The first logo featured Rolando's son Rodrigo, already helping behind the counter at twelve.

Rolando's goal from day one: make the best sub in Hartford — one people would crave and come back for. That same obsession lives in every Tripleta, Chimi, and bandeja off the counter.

Rolando and his wife took over the deli and have been running it as a team ever since — pouring real care into every order, every day. A lot has changed since 2009, but one thing hasn't: they're still here.

Open seven days a week, early until late, Big Brothers is where East Hartford shows up — for a quick breakfast, a loaded sub, or a full bandeja with the family. It's not just food; it's moments, memories, and real sazón.
